IS RAYMOND REALLY THE VILLAIN N IN
‘’IN TIME’’?
Villains in movies are sometimes portrayed as bad and violent. In movies, sometimes, good characters pretend to be bad or may end up as bad characters and sometime villains may end up as good. Raymond is portrayed as a villain in "In Time", however, a close analysis of his characters reveals both the evil and good side of Raymond. Raymond has two
bad characteristic such as cruel and selfish but he also has a good character such
as he is responsible. The characters that Raymond portrays shows even the bad person has some negative
attitude but that person can also have the positive attitudes in their lives.
Raymond is a cruel person, and this is seen in the way he handles his job and how he behaves a s a thief. Raymond is a cruel person because he kills Henry
Hamilton’s when Henry Hamilton was sleeping. Besides that, Raymond is also a thief of time. He want to
live longer and become a rich man from stealing the other person’s time. So, In Time movie, Raymond shows that he is a cruel person in
different ways like he is a killer and in the same time, he is also a thief.
Raymond is a selfish person when it comes to time
and power. Raymond is selfish because he steals Sylvia’s time when her
car is involved in an accident and he does not want to share the time with his
friends. Raymond is also
selfish through the use of his power. He used the power for his own uses for example he
uses the title as a “ time keeper “ to add on to his power. So, Raymond is selfish actor in ‘In Time’ movie and he shows
the attitude in different ways.
On the other hand, Raymond has the good
attitude that is he responsible towards his job and time. Raymond is responsible with his job because
he is so addicted in his work. He has to be a good ‘time keeper’ and he is also
alert when anyone makes mistakes like
stealing other people's time.He will catch the thief . In addition to that, Raymond is also
responsible in his time. He defines that time is very important because he
manages his time properly to satisfy he needs like adding the extra time to live
longer. Even though Raymond is seen as the villain
character, he has the some good qualities that we can model from.
In a nut shell , this movie shows both sides of Raymond.. From this movie, i learn that there are many sides of a person. Sometimes, some bad characters we meet have reasons why they become so. Some good characters were once bad. Not everyone is as bad as we think they are, and not all good people were good last time too.
